Unfortunately, it was not what I had expected. It is nice, but not worth the $$$. I had expected more design to it than what it had.

This barrette is very well-made, sturdy, and handsome. My hair is straight and fine-textured, but I have a lot of it, and I wear it long. The barrette holds a fair amount of hair as a tieback, but due to its weight, I use a clip under it to keep it from slipping down. It alone can't keep all my hair in an "up-do," but I have yet to find such a barrette. The clasp mechanism is made in France, and it's stronger than other barrettes I've tried. Thank you for offering this in your catalog.

I have really thick hair. this is the only clip that can hold all of it without breaking. Plus I love the Celtic design.

That clip will be lovely on the gorgeous auburn curls of my niece. She's the only one in her generation to 'get the red'. I think the hair clip will do quite nicely.

This piece looked like it had elegant detail in the photos but when it arrived and I held it in person it was very plain and looked cheaply made. Definitely not worth the price.

I would give this beautiful barrette a 5 except it wasn't large enough to hold all of my daughter's thick red hair. It is a shame I have to return it because it is truly lovely and she really liked the gift.

I bought this barrette over 3 years ago & have extremely thick hair! It has proved to be a very substantial piece, able to hold my hair without fail! It is not just a Barrette, it's more a piece of jewelry, a conversation piece & has withheld the test of time & quality! A very beautiful & well made piece!

I purchased a pewter barrette that is of a wonderful quality of pewter. The design is pure Celtic Knots. Both of my nieces have very thick, long, red hair. It is hard to find barrettes to hold their hair. Not only was I thrilled when I received this one but my niece loved it. We are of Irish heritage and whenever I am able to give them a gift from their Irish heritage it means even more.

As always, I am delighted with my celtic barette. My hair is very fine, but there is a lot of it, and it takes a mighty barrette to hold it all in place. Your barrettes have what it takes to put my hair up and keep it up and look gorgeous doing it. Easy to use- no fussing needed; and I love the compliments I often get on that beautiful barrette. You are my go-to folks when I need hair wear.

I have purchased two of these barrettes. First the Joan of Arc, which is larger and holds more hair and at a later date a smaller one. I have gotten more compliments on them. They work well and once put in my hair, are there all day. They are beautiful! Don't have to worry about keeping them polished. I love them.
