Beautiful, but large

This poncho is thick and warm and I absolutely love the kelp (dark green) color. I just wish I had read the reviews in regards to sizing before I purchased it. I ordered the M/L size, which is what I wear in sweaters and it is pretty big on me. It looks fine unzipped, but overly bulky and kind of sloppy when zipped. On a side note, I own 2 other sweaters from this company - one size S that is slightly small on me now (I've had it for probably 15 years) and another that is size M and fits me well.

This Poncho in grey merino wool is gorgeous. It is thick and oh so warm. I do not want to take it off! I ordered the small/medium as the site stated it runs large and the fit is good.

This is a lovely, substantial poncho, so warm & comfortable to pop on for a quick trip outside. I also wear it inside around the house. Purchased on sale; I chose the charcoal grey but do wish it was available in a blue shade. BE AWARE when ordering: Gaelsong does not include return labels with postage. I paid $20.00 to return another sweater that was too small!!!

This was my first order from GaelSong. The zip poncho arrived very quickly from date of phone order. The color I got is kelp (very dark green). Beautiful, also love the look & texture of the different stitches in the design. Got size S/M. Normally get M/L. Your rep said it runs large. Glad I got the size I did. Plenty of room for a heavy sweater or sweatshirt underneath. Love it, waiting for a cold day!

The Irish Zip Poncho will not disappoint! The Irish wool does keep you warm, almost like having a wool blanket for your back! It is comfortable to wear without being too bulky. My size is 14 in a jacket or coat of any kind. However, I ordered the S/M in the poncho, and it is a perfect fit. It runs large and is roomy for sweaters and jackets underneath. I think that this poncho is an asset to any wardrobe.

Incredibly comfortable and goes with everything. Toasty warm but room to move around. Not as confining as your typical sweater. I love that it has pockets too.

Very warm. Got the medium-large, ample room. Only thing I would recommend: please stitch the buttons on more securely, one of mine came off.

The Zippered Poncho Sweater is great. It took two tries to find the better size, but such is the cost of mail order. Gaelsong operates a great exchange system that worked smoothly. Thank you.

It is beautiful and comfortable and fits even a tall person like me! I had a lot of trouble trying to decide on the color - but the sand color i picked goes with everything! And it's so different from all my sweaters, coats and capes - i love it!

I just love this poncho. The merino wool keeps you warm and the zip up the front makes it easy to put on. I got the kelp color (it's a lovely shade of dark green) and have gotten several compliments on it, which I promptly pointed to the web site.

I give this item a '5' for being beautifully well made. However, the sizing can be a challenge. I'm a 14-16, and ordered the M/L. I was swimming in it, and so I returned it for the S/M. Well, that one was slightly too small. I think this item is well designed for someone who is taller or more slim. I'm short and stocky (5'4", 170 lbs) and it did not fit my body type. Sure loved it though, and feel with an in-between size I might have kept it. Still was great quality though.

I purchased the poncho for my wife as a Christmas gift. The package was very nicely wrapped and came in a timely manner. My wife loved the detail work and stitching on the poncho. It is very nice looking and very well handcrafted. Great quality.

Poor workmanship

Design and materials were excellent. Workmanship was poor. Hemline at rear cupped and would not lay flat. Button on one side was misaligned preventing the garment from falling smoothly from shoulder to hem. Have returned poncho hoping to get a satisfactory replacement.

Got it in Kelp! Love the color - depending on the light it looks green or grey. Comfortable and warm. Love it!!!!!!
A basic that is different

I was attracted to this garment because it is truly a wardrobe basic, but with a fresh styling. The detailing is lovely, and I anticipate years of wear. This does run large, so truly petite ladies will have to take a pass on this garment.
