I have been looking at this item for YEARS and since I am in a new house, I finally bought it. The wood finish looks gorgeous and I love the details. So glad I finally got this!

Fun, but small
Mar 1, 2020 | Posted By CAROL Drew from DENVER, CO United States
I was warned by previous reviews that this was small so I was prepared for that (sort of) but basically I am really happy with this. The details are great and I really like the fact that there are several hangers on the back so you can change the direction that it hangs. ..smart thinking!

I loved this however - it was so small so I sent it back. Very unique and beautiful. I was looking another size for my door.
Perfect!

I really love my Wheel of the Year Plaque. It didn't come with an explanation for the seasons but I easily found one online so I know when to move the wheel. The plaque is heavy, yet easy to hang.

I had been looking for this item for awhile, especially since I wanted the several hooks on the back so I could turn it. I love this item. It is very well crafted.
Meaning of the Holiday Names
Nov 6, 2017 | Posted By Amy L. from Rockwall, TX United States
Many people here seem confused about the meaning of the names written on the spokes of the wheel, so I thought I'd offer an explanation. They are the names of the Wiccan Sabbats and Esbats, and any Wiccan website can give you a complete description of these holidays. Hope this helps!

I received my Wheel of the Year plaque today! I LOVE IT! It is exactly as I thought it would be. I had wanted one for awhile but kept putting it off. I ordered the Terracotta. There were some reviews that did not care for the color, but that was the reason I wanted it. The contrast is outstanding. It really pops! THANK YOU!

Purchased this in bronze for my daughter, she absolutely loves it. There is a lot of detail work on it. Very satisfied customer.
Gorgeous
Feb 24, 2016 | Posted By Peonygal from Bloomington, IN United States
This piece is stunning--everything I hoped it would be. The image for each festival is detailed and beautifully executed. The lettering on the spokes is artfully done too. (FYI, if you get the terra cotta version, expect it to be really quite orange/terra-cotta-colored. I mention this because some reviewers of this item seemed surprised by this.) Very happy with this item! Thank you GaelSong!

Wonderful Customer Service
Nov 19, 2015 | Posted By Peg from Fort Myers, FL United States
I have had my eye on the Wheel of the Year plaque for years... I decided to go ahead and order it as a treat to myself. When I opened the package, I saw the plaque was chipped in several places. It looked as if something had fallen on it, either in transit or when being packaged. I called Gael Song immediately and spoke to a representative about the situation. He forwarded me to, I believe, Tina. She had wonderful customer service skills, and resolved the situation with ease. BTW - the plaque is beautiful!
Very Nice, But...

I have been wanting this item for several years, hoping it would go on sale. Finally I just gave in and ordered it recently. It arrived well-packaged and my initial impression was that it was quite beautifully done. The color is a nice assortment of browns, in the range of golden walnut. The detail and quality of the sculpting is extremely well done, with many subtle touches. The piece is smaller than I was expecting, but that actually allows for more options on where to hang it. It is also surprisingly heavy (3 lbs). Now to the negatives: a stain/lacquer has been applied to the piece to create contrasts, I suppose, but on my item someone has been very sloppy in the application process, and this dark brown stain has pooled and puddled in some areas, obscuring the fine details with a shiny glaze. More carelessness in the finishing is found on the back of the wheel, where the felt-like paper backing was glued on crookedly, so the backing overhangs the spokes and can be seen from the front if mounted on a lighter wall. That can be trimmed away, but the really irritating part is where the hanging hardware has been mis-aligned and is not mounted squarely above the spokes, so the wheel hangs crookedly on several of the spokes. It has been drilled several times, the screws holding the hardware in place are loose, but appear to be stripped and cannot be tightened, and in one spot a drilled hole has gone all the way through to the front of the sculpture! Fortunately it is a tiny hole which I can disguise, but still, rather shoddy work for a piece this expensive. I intend to keep it but, darn it, I was hoping for excellent quality all the way around. Caveat emptor, folks.

A beautiful alternative calendar rooted in nature
Dec 19, 2014 | Posted By Vicki from Greeley, CO United States
I had to wait a long time for my Wheel of the Year, but it was worth the wait. I will be researching the various Celtic times of year to learn more. Some information about the Wheel of the Year should be included with it. We will use this alternative calendar to keep ourselves more connected to the cycles of the natural world.
nice but detail is hard to see

I hung the plaque and I do love the concept of it. The only thing I do not like is the entire plaque is the same color which makes it hard to see the detail.
Celtic Festival plaque
Jan 26, 2014 | Posted By Marcia Maloney from Windsor, CA United States
We love our plaque, but we had to research what each of them were. The only one we were sure of was Yule. We had expected that you would have enclosed a simple explanation of each festival/holiday, but you did not.

Celtic Year Calendar Wheel
Oct 20, 2013 | Posted By George D. from Troutville, VA United States
The wheel is great. However, it would have been better if the names on the spokes were translated to english in a separate flyer. I don't read gaelic and I would like to know what the names mean.
Really a Nice Piece
Sep 30, 2013 | Posted By Cinnamon from Martinsburg, WV United States
I couldn't give it a 5 because as an earlier review had said, it wasn't brown like the picture, but more of a bondo primer rusty orange - not an attractive color. So I held my breath and lightly spray painted it a satin bronze, then used an antique gold rub'n'buf paint on the highlighted areas: the pumpkin, the berries, leaves, etc, all around the wheel, and on the open Celtic trefoil in the middle. Yowza - what a difference. I hung it so I can see it as soon as I walk in my front door - it's glorious.

I have always enjoyed stories of the Celts but honestly this item caught my eye because it would serve as a counterpoint to a round clock in my living room. I have since found the explanations for the words on the spokes (use a magnifying glass in the catalog or image online) and that makes this even more of a pleasure. Thanks.
Wonderful Piece
Mar 22, 2013 | Posted By Iodhan Silverbear from Orono, ME United States
I find this a lovely piece and a welcome addition to the wall above our family altar. Despite what others have said about this product, it does in fact turn Deosil, you simply need to turn it all the way around when changing it which I do not find in the least bit an issue. It was a bit smaller than I imagined but now that I am used to the size I find it to be the perfect size... my only gripe at all, is that I would have preferred something made from more natural materials instead of cast in resin but to that end, I could simply make one myself instead of purchasing it. All in all, a welcome and attractive addition to my home.

Wheel of Time
Feb 12, 2013 | Posted By Maat from Pleasanton, CA United States
At the risk of repeating myself, the photo does not give justice to the object. It is high quality and well-made. I was going to put it in my meditation room, but I love looking at it so much that I hung it near the entryway in my living room. Now I see it whether I am coming or going. As always (from GaelSong), the product is well-packaged and arrives quickly. The only "negative" is that I think I may now be addicted to GaelSong!
Wheel of the Year - Wheel of Time
Feb 3, 2013 | Posted By Maat from Pleasanton, CA United States
This item is one of two items of my first ever order with GaelSong. I am delighted with both, and just finished my second order. Enough of my life story - I was so happy when I opened the box. I hung it in my living room instead of my Zen/meditation room so I could see it every morning, every evening. I already feel more in tune with the seasons.

Walk with the Goddess, deosil toward Yule
Nov 19, 2008 | Posted By Pat Bode from Santa Rosa, CA United States
You are Gaea (which you are) when this beautiful Wheel is on your wall. While we walk toward Yule going deosil, She moves your Wheel so that Samhain is in the past. She's not moving the Wheel widdershins; She's coming with us to Mother Bear's cave to greet the Wintery Queen.
It turns deosil, but the writing's upside down.
Nov 18, 2008 | Posted By Zanna from Carmichaeal, CA United States
Starting at the top - Samhain - and going clock-wise (deosil) the holidays are in the right order, but the writing's upside down. I do wish that it was done in something other than the ubiquitous resin.
It turns backwards
Oct 14, 2008 | Posted By Jay Bangle from Castro Valley, CA United States
When you actually turn the wheel, it turns widdershins, not deosil.
