Oberon Design
Oberon Design

A small workshop in Santa Rosa, California, is the origin of some of the most beautiful leather and pewter products GaelSong carries. For over thirty five years, Brendan Smith has been practicing leather-craft, and his creative vision has raised the bar of hand-crafted leather products made in the United States. From the oak-embossed leather journals to the Celtic knot handbags with hand cast pewter pulls, Oberon Design truly embodies what it means to be a modern-day artisan celebrating the Celtic spirit.
We recently spoke to Oberon Design's Becca Smith about their inspiration and passion for their craft. (Read the interview...)
Committed to quality and unique design, as well as environmental ethics, the artists at Oberon handcraft every piece of leather and pewter that leaves their studio. Under Brendan's leadership, they manage a production process that includes fifteen steps for each individual journal, four steps of which are related to quality inspection. Further, they set strict standards for themselves regarding the environment, using non-toxic dyes and glues, 100% lead-free pewter, domestically-tanned leather and recycled paper. With every aspect of design and creation thoughtfully considered, Oberon products epitomize what's best about artisanal craftsmanship in the United States.
