IN MEMORY OF A loyal and loving companion of 15 years died. He was a dog, a Pekingnese. His name was Ashley. I wanted a memorial stone for him, like I had for others that had gone before, but could not find one in any of the old places. After 4 months, I ordered a personalized garden stone from GaelSong. In the catalog, there were two designs to choose from, a "Tree of Life" or an "Orchid", bounded by Celtic knots, and the option to add, IN MEMORY OF "NAME" for a personal memory. It looked really pretty, and appropriate for him, so I ordered such a stone for Ashley. He had saved my life by barking unusually loud and long until my husband came to check on me, and to do CPR, a month before he died. It was the only time he ever barked loud in his life. I had seen where he would go while my own heart had stopped; it was not that I was worried about him. But he needed some kind of marker. This one was nice. I was kind of overwhelmed when I received the marker. It had a paw print between the borders of intertwined Celtic knots, and the words, "Beloved Companion" around Ashley's name, with the dates of his mortal life, 1995-2010, below. There was a card enclosed from the artist, signed, "George". I never met George, and never spoke to him, although I know that he got his directions from Gaelsong. But, that gesture, to capture some of that feeling I have about Ashley, and his life, and death, was beyond anything I expected. I believe everything really is interconnected, and life, and death, and life again, intertwine like the eternal Celtic knots, but sometimes, when grief is heavy, we do not see that so clearly, and it is very good to have that idea reinforced by someone else like that. Dog Memorial Stones I've got two of the GaelSong memorial stones in my garden, commemorating my two poodles. One is the paw print and the other is the Tree of Life design. Both stones are beautiful and arrived in a box with the artist's card and a note. Both are positioned beneath a rose bush and are a perfect memorial to a beloved dog, cat, horse, rabbit--any number of companions waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. I highly recommend these stones, not only for Gaelsong's superb customer service and consideration (the representative who took my order offered her condolences), but for the craftsmanship and lasting beauty. – Suzanne, 2011-06-19
